Foothill College Heritage Series

As part of Foothill College’s monthly heritage series, Women’s History Month celebrates diversity through cultural, community, and collaborative campus festivities. I was asked to create a promotional poster and accompanying digital assets for the Foothill College Heritage Website and Social Media to bring awareness to the campus community about upcoming events. Inspired by the National Women’s History Alliance theme for 2025, “Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations”, the design aims to celebrate and honor the activism, strength, and achievements of women throughout history.

Summary

Creating clear and effective promotional materials for a diverse student body underscored the impact of visual communication and accessibility in design. I had to consider how factors like font size, color contrast, and layout affected readability for students in a high-traffic environment. This project made me more aware of how visual design directly impacts comprehension and usability, strengthening my ability to prioritize communication without sacrificing aesthetic appeal.
